Welcome! We’re thrilled that you have chosen to find out more about NBC Ministries. We understand that your first few visits to a new church can be daunting. You don’t know anyone, you have no idea where to drop your kids off (or even if you want too), much less where the bathrooms are.
Our goal on your first visit is to provide you with as many answers as possible, without inundating you with too much information. Here’s what you can expect:
As you approach the front doors, you will be greated by one of our friendly greeters. We do our best to spot first-time guests quickly-not to make you feel uncomfortable but to welcome you and answer any questions that you may have. Also, if you’re a first time guest, be sure to stop by the information table before you leave so that we can present you will a small ‘appreciation’ gift for checking us out! Should you like a quick tour of the facility, we’ll have one of our staff members show you around. This can be really helpful in locating the bathrooms, the nursery, and the children’s church area.
Above all else, we want you to feel welcome and at-home on your very first visit!
How Do I Get There?
We are located at 1580 Florence-Byram Road in Florence. We share part of the Cleary Baptist Church complex.
You can also refer to the Google map on our home page.
How Should I Dress?
CASUAL!. You won’t see any coats and ties at NBC. Shorts, jeans and a t-shirt are perfectly acceptable. Your clothes will never determine whether you’re welcome.
What is the music like?
Our Worship Team spends a lot of time each week preparing so that we can present a special time of worship. We’ll typically open the service with a couple of high energy songs, followed by a few slower, more worshipful songs. Of course, we always leave room for a surprise here and there!
Do I Need To Give In The Offering?
We don’t want you to give anything on your first visit. Just sit back and enjoy the experience from start to finish.
Where Do I Go From Here?
Assuming you enjoyed the service, we encourage you to fill out a communication card and place it in the offering basket or turn it in at the information desk. We promise not to swamp you with promotional mailings, but we’d love to get to know you and your family better!
Our mission at NBC Ministries is to see the people of Jackson and surrounding communities experience radical life-change through Jesus Christ.
Have you ever felt like an outsider? Felt out of place, like you didn't belong? How about feeling like an outsider when you attended a church?
NBC is a church where you are accepted for who you are, no matter your race, job, clothing, baggage, or socio-economic status. We truly welcome everyone, especially unbelievers who are seeking the truth!
“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:18-20, ESV)
Our Core Values
NBC Ministries was founded on this conviction: Lost People matter to God; therefore they matter to us. Our eleven core values bring clarity to the things that matter most at NBC.
Loving God. Loving People.
We may not look like much on the outside, but trust me-there are hearts of gold inside each of these champions! Each member of our leadership team carries a truly unique skill that you're sure to appreciate if given the chance. Take a second and get to know us just a little bit better.
Pastor Tim Burnett (a graduate of Wesley Biblical Seminary) was given a vision to see the lost people of the Jackson area come into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. In his spare time Tim enjoys running, listening to his favorite band- Stryper, and playing the drums. He is married to Stacy and they have 5 children.
Our youth paster, Michael Matthews.
Stephen is our Worship leader.
Children’s Ministry Lay Leader
Children’s ministry is the foundation of our church today. We get to teach our kids the truths about Jesus and His word. By living our lives, we teach and show our kids how much Jesus loves them, and it all begins with children’s ministry. Before I came to NBC, I taught two and three-year-old Sunday school for four years, and then I have taught children’s church at NBC for the last four years. It is a joy to see kids’ faces light up when they learn about God’s truths for their lives. It has been an honor to serve as the Children’s Lay Leader at NBC.
My name is Brandy Fisher and I have a slight obsession with dogs! I have been married to Jared for the last 13 years. We have three beautiful girly dogs named Nana who is 9 years old, Gabby who is 11 years old, and Grace who is 4 years old. These dogs are my sweet kids. I also have many hobbies outside of church, which include crocheting, sewing and embroidery.
Small Group Coordinator
